But...the reason (I was told) for needing the permit for brigs in the first place was that they're hard to distinguish from Canas when young. As far as I know, you can't get a permit to ship Canas and they (USDA-APHIS) doesn't even want to see Canas at the same facility as brigs. Line one on my permit conditions page states "Shipments must not be contaminated with other species of snails, especially plant-feeding snails like Pomacea canaliculata. Contamination of any shipment with plant-feeding snails is a violation of this permit."
