That was one of the articles which got modified without permission or notice, which just might have something to do with why the articles are no longer there. I am anti-editors, exactly why I don't publish in the mags. I have seen what they do regularly and routinely to other's work. My stuff may be right or wrong, but my name is on it, I want it to be what I believe. I can certainly change my mind on things, and have done on a number of things.
Back in the lab days, peer-review did prompt serious editing and re-writes, but they pushed the author(s) to do it themselves. That is proper editing to me.
