I've kept madtoms also. They are really cool catfish. Mine lived in a tank with a channel/blue catfish hybrid, a 5 inch bluegill, a 5 inch green sunfish, and a cray. They all got along well together except when the green sunfish decided he was the boss of the tank and would attempt to pick on the 18 inch hybrid catfish. That was fun to watch. The madtom always kept to himself and would eat night crawlers from my fingers after I turned off the lights. He never liked the lights much.
