Default baby panda

Pic of a new surprise baby panda cory in my 50 gallon.

First noticed something wiggle in April when I moved a java fern to vacuum, so I put the plant back down and ignored that corner for a while. As it got older and bigger it would come out first under the crypt leaves and then this week it started dashing around everywhere in the open. Now there's another wiggler in the java fern so it'll probably have a little brother or sister in another month.

I just think it's so gosh-darn cute. Oh, it's not a black stripe on the big panda, that's an algae mark on the glass.

Ahhh, that's so cute! Are panda cories easy to breed?

They are cute to begin with but the baby is just so much cuter!

I don't know. I never TRIED to get them to breed. I've never seen the eggs so I could collect them and aim for a bunch. This guy just appeared - in a community tank to boot. (Never meant it to be a community tank either but my diamond tetras in another tank keep giving me surprise babies as well so I put some into the 50.)

Pandas tend to hide their eggs so it is not unusual that you never spotted them.

Pandas look almost like very tiny adults when they hatch.....big heads with white markings.......adorable little fish !

Nice find Kveeti ! Anytime my pandas spawned it was always in the evening. Watch for them chasing each other around about that time of day...you might catch them spawning and collect some eggs. They're easier to raise than it is to get the parents to spawn..

Some pics of a few little wiggler pandas....

I didn't know that. Thanks! I guess I should do some reading.

Great pic! Thanks. Actually my two (out of 3 in the tank) chase each other around all the day long. It's exhausting watching them.

Thank you all for your comments. I'm sorry for not replying sooner; went away to a wedding out of province and it turned out to be an experience I'd rather not repeat. The wedding was ok, though.
