Default Could this work?

10 gallon standard
pH 7.4-8.0
sand substrate (possibly mixed with some sort of plant subsrate?)
onion plants 5-6
java moss/fern

i was thinking of adding bogwood with the java, but it would lower the pH too much, right? although, the mollies current tank has a low pH that they have been slowly accustomed to, but what is the correct pH?

marine salt; what is the best salinity?
what is the ideal temp?
if i get a fluval filter, the mollies would have a good amount of waterflow. (intake/return pump) use of airstones/CO2? what hater would work for brackish? hope i covered all the bases. any advice?

Mollies are one of those fish that cause a lot of debate about their perfect environment. To be honest, if your mollies are doing well in the current water parameters, I wouldn't go out of my way to change them. Most mollies nowadays are born in FW from parents that were born in FW, etc.

I've read a lot of conflicting experiences about whether to keep them in at least hard water, if not slightly brackish. They can also be acclimated to SW. If you are set on a true brackish tank then I'd lose the driftwood and use a marine mix salt like Instant Ocean. Low end brackish is typically around 1.005. Aragonite sand makes a nice substrate.
