So Ive decided to keep natives in my 55G>
I just filled it with fresh delicious well water ( no leaks, yay!) I turned on the HOB and tranfered over the extra sponge that had been running in my guppy tank. Guppy tank stays @70F and the water in the newly filled tank was 50F at best. Do you s'pose I just killed off all the bacteria that was in the sponge? I put some thawed fishfood in there, so I can test for ammonia in a while and see what I see, but I was just wonderring. |

Miss you, Old Man

Bacteria tend to be pretty hardy--I'd prefer to make transistions a bit more gradual, but at the minimum you should have a good colony that lives, and will just need to stabilize.
