Default Looking for Pics of Koi

Hey,

I'm looking for some pictures of Koi fish. Needed for work so an artist can do some sketches of a Koi.
That and any turtles that are generally considered to be chinese /asian.

Much appreciated for any pics.

These are for reference since the artist I'm working with doesn't know even what a koi looks like. Any websites with pics would be really helpful.

Ah. Then those should work--if they have the right angle.

This is the best place to start: koi - Google Image Search

Ya I've done the google search. The one thing with that is there are so many pics to go through that don't really help. They also have tattoo style paintings there which I don't want as those will influence him. I want this to be a fresh mind of seeing the real thing and then him doing his style with no outside influence. Thats why I posted here since I've seen pics people here have done of there fish. There really up close and show great detail of what the particular fish looks like.

Example would be here
This pic gives him a good look at what a koi is. I like the tattoo style of koi fish. I just want him to fit the style of the rest of his work.

When its done and finalized I'll see if I can post his work.

First off. WOW. On the pond.
Second. Koi on wiki. I know there can be false info there. Hence why I'm going to ask this here. There are a bunch of different colors of the fish. Whats the most common. The pics on her site are a lot of the orange/white style.

Now I've gotta find out if a different type of koi symbolizes something different in Chinese/Japanese culture. The basic symbolization I've read is that it stands for strength. It would be rather embarrassing if the type we use stands for Stupidity. Too much symbolism crap.

Also the flowers in the pond are similar to what were using so that sort of makes me feel were going in the right direction.

Still not seeing what's wrong with a good 'ol fashioned google search. The first page alone has more great pics of koi then we could provide...

Red/Orange and white are the most common colors. The intensity and such varies.

As for symbolism...So, no clue. Sorry! I just keep fish, I don't analyze them.

A couple links to photo's Koi Gallery & My koi and ponds

Red/white koi are Kohaku and highly regarded by the Japanese and Chinese, second would be Sanke (white/red/black) & Showa (black/white/red), Utsuri are also well thought of (two coloured, black base). Although, according to Feng Shui possessing 7 "gold" carp is a sign of good luck,.. owning 1 black carp is also good luck, or so my Asian friends tell me.

Kohaku
