Default goldfish laid eggs?

I was looking at my tank, and i saw some eggs on the underside of a bridge i have. I thought they were snail eggs at first, but then i looked today and my old feeder goldfish was freaking out about a snail that was getting close to them. It was trying to get the snail off. Then i saw the fish doing something to the eggs which looked like taking care of them.

My question is, did my goldfish lay eggs? there are a lot of them.

I was just very confused, i have had these two goldfish since i had my turtles, they were surviver feeders from a couple years ago. they have been alone in a 125 gallon tank with a large minnow, among lots of snails.

Any input anyone has would be great. I would hate to stock the tank now and then have a bunch of goldfish comming.

hmm, sounds like it. If they are goldfish, I think you can expect a LOT of babies.

Whenever my goldfish laid eggs they had a little feeding frenzy afterwards. You probably won't have a real high survival rate, as they tend to eat anything that will fit in their mouths.
