Default Constipated black moor

Hi, guys.

My black moor is constipated. I only feed him shelled peas, and he is still having trouble. He floats, AND lies on the gravel, tail up. What else can I do?

Thanks for your help.

Epsom salts is an effective remedy--do some searching for the appropriate dose.

Are you saying you've only been giving him peas lately, or that peas are all that he ever gets?

Yeah, lately I've been giving him peas. Not every day, too! Perhaps I need to feed him little bits every day, instead of say, two peas every other day.
I also have goldfish granules on hand, but I hesitate to feed him those because he has to gulp the surface to eat them.

Adding some variety to his diet would be a good thing. Soak the food, and then hold it just below the surface to feed.
