Default Fish Brochure for New Fish Keepers

I'm not sure exactly where this should go so please feel free to move it if need be.

So, I've been kind of bored this summer and I was inspired to create a brochure on fish keeping for beginners. The idea is if you know someone who is new to the hobby and you want to give them some information without seeming too pushy or over bearing. You can print out this brochure and hand it to them...this way its not you telling them what to do but rather some other "source" which some people respond to better. I know I would! I hate being told what to do!

Anyways, here is what I've created. I would like to thank rich311k for the use of this pictures as the basis of the art work and Bob Bishop for the cycling information and looking over the brochure for me. I intended on this being the first public draft so I am opening it up to comments and suggestions. That being said, I can't fit everything on a piece of paper so I decided to focus on some to the important basics, ie. cycling, appropriate fish and equipments, as well as emphasizing research. Also, I made it black and white for ease of printing.

Let me know what you think!

I have no idea of where you would put it but I would add some more information on "general" equipment e.g. net, bucket, water conditioner...etc. not too in depth but just a little more. I wish I would have had that a few months ago honestly.

I think its a good idea. It tends to focus on NTS, which is what is really important for beginners, espically those that don't care enough to research anything else.

I do see a typo.

In the web solutions, there is a sentence that reads, "Joining a forum or other web community is a great way to ask question, t personal responses, and meet other fish enthusiasts."

Looks like something got cut off there were with the t.

I think it's a great idea, Bunny. The sketches are pretty good too.

Actually maybe there is something else but I'm not sure if it is pertinant.

I didn't see any information on doing water changes, something to the effect of

"....after your tank is cycled, the job isn't done.........constant waterchanges are important...blah, blah, blah"

Something of that nature, but I'm not sure if that is part of "setting up the tank"

Article forum? We can keep it here, and eventually...sometime...we're going to get some html pages with the articles in a real article (not thread) format.

Thanks guys!

Wesley...thanks, but I can't take the credit. I basically traced a couple of rich311k's photos in paint and edited them so they were black and white. I wanted something simple but still interesting.

John, I like the idea and I will see if I can fit it in.

OG...I think that would be a great place for it. I'm going to post a final copy with the changes on it but, I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow so it might be a little while.
