Question Tank Seals

Hi All,

I have an AGA 90 gal tank that I've had set up for about 6 or so years, because of some recent family changes I'm moving and had to put it up for sale. The new buyer will be picking it up in about 10 days. My question is, will the tank being empty for approx. 10-12 days have any affect on the tanks seals? As far as I can tell they look fine, and the tank never leaked, but I just want to make sure that there isn't any kind of preventitive measure I could or need to do to ensure their integrity.

Thanks

For that short a period of time, it should be fine. I've stored tanks for up to a year in a cool dry place, and they've been fine.

Awesome, thanks guys, the tank will be dry, and I'll do my best to keep it cool, which might be difficult this weekend according the weather channel, but the AC will be going in my apt, so it sounds like it should be fine. Thanks for the quick responses.

Tank seals? Just make sure you feed them and give them access to those cute little horns that they honk when they are at the circus....

Just thought I would mention that one of the suggestions made to folks who are buying a used tank from somebody they don't know is to see it filled and acutally holding water w/o leaking when you go to get it. So your buyer may request this.

One way to make this an easy process if for you to have it filled when the buyer arrives. Be sure you can easily empty it as well :-)

I put the ad on Craigslist and the woman who's buying it called me so quickly and came be to check it out when i had just begun to drain it. So she's seen it 2/3 if not more, full. But yeah, very good suggestion, thanks.

What post doesn't get improved with a dancing banana.

A 90 gallon is way too small for more than one seal, unless they are all babies. But you're going to have to club them when they outgrow the tank.
