Default Hide and Go Shrimp

Last saturday I moved my 125 gal discus tank to my house (finally!) and found about a dozen Amano shrimp, which I had put in when I first set the tank up, two years ago. I though the discus had eaten them or the shrimp died. Last night I dropped a couple algae wafers in the tank for the otos, because I removed so much of the overgrown jungle and was afraid they wouldn't have enough algae to eat from the diminished plant mass. The otos quickly found the wafers, but so did all these shrimp. It was so cool seeing them grabbing pieces of algae wafer and running away under the driftwood with them.

Congrats on the shrimp It's a nice surprise when you see those guys you thought were long gone.

...and then some! I took the opportunity to clean all the filter hoses and my CO2 reactor. We had to take the tank out through a window at my buddy's house and in through a window at mine. I enlisted nine people to help with the move. My back hurt all week afterwards...lol. Getting old is definitely not for sissies.

My fish (and shrimp) came through the move wonderfully. I also took this opportunity to get the SAEs out of there and put them in other tanks. Now, if my discus spawn again there aren't any SAEs in their tank to immediately eat the eggs.
