Happy trails. .. to you

Well, I guess this is yet another "my snails laid eggs" thread, but I'm grasping for anything positive at this point. I"ve had two mystery snails about two months, one "black" one yellow, all over each other all the time!!!! Lunkhead me just noticed these clutches--one's even been broken down (probably eaten), and one I couldn't photo. One's on the underside of the glass lid. Will wonders never cease?
Three on one end: ![]() ![]() Under the lid?????? LOL ![]()

Miss you, Old Man

That's how they are always laid in my tank. The broken down one is probably just hatched--there is a lot of 'shell' left after they hatch. The babies sort of drop into the water.

Well, she's become adventurous and laid a clutch on the upper outside part of the HOB!!!!!!!!!! Not sure what to do with these to ensure possible survival---these snails are definitely into spring fever!!!!!!

Water keeper

A technique I've often heard on another web site:
Wet a paper towel in aquarium water. Wring it out until you can't get any more water out. Remove the eggs from the HOB and wrap them in a dry paper towel, then wrap that in the wet one. Put this in a sealed ziplock snack baggie and float it in the tank. Open the baggie every day or two to refresh the air, make sure the outer towel is still moist, make sure the inner towel isn't sticking too badly, and eventually to see the baby snails that have hatched. |
