So...Our little 40 reef is about to migrate into a 150. The 40 will be moved over to make room, and a frog fish will go into it. This required moving the 24 into the bedroom, and taking down the 12, which I did today.
And what, you're asking, does this have to do with FW inverts, you're asking? Well, I'm trying to come up with a place to set up the 12, and make it a shrimp tank, to cultivate and expand the green shrimp herd! The problem is that the only likely spot--since I don't want to put a tank in the guest room where we seldom go--is right next to a doorway. Now, in Wyoming, this was a big deal, because the difference in the inside temp and the outside temp could be 70+ degrees easily. Here, though, the difference isn't that significant. So...What do you think? I've been running these tanks without heaters, because they stay right about 73 without one. But I suspect the shrimp would do better in a little warmer setup, so I'm not opposed to putting a heater in as well.

I'm assuming you have some sort of AC/heating system(s) in your house. Essentaly(but not exactly) you are turning a closed turning a closed heating/cooling system to an open system by opening and shutting your door. I doubt you will see and ecessive temp changes in your tank UNLESS you leave your door open for extended periods of time, the house will balance it self out really quick since air is THE best insulator in the world. Enough engineering back to video games.

Heating, yes, but no AC. It seldom gets above 75 here.
I'm going to see if the table the tank is one will even fit in the space, go from there.
