Beautiful betta!

I think its time to part with my two killifish babies. They are just about the same size as the adults and while they aren't fighting too much I worry it might get worse and with three males and only one female I can foresee issues in the future.

Changed the gravel in my 29 gallon, boy is that a job! Nice blue pebbles in there now.

Hey, Kveeti!

How are those baby Diamond tetras? I love those fish, they are one of my very favorites.

I suppose if I took out the adults, I'd have scads of them.... Only the original "surprise" baby (who is now an adult) ever survived in the main tank. When I syphon, I look at the tub through my magnifying glass and try to pick out any fry, but they are so tiny and clear... I dump whatever I have found in my algae-ridden 10 gallon quarantine... the first 3 have survived, they are over 1/4 inch now. I have put about 1/2 dozen more fry in since, but I don't see them yet - either they didn't survive, they're still too small and hiding or the bigger babies might have eaten them. I don't know where I'm going to put the three babies, though. I have 6 adults in a 15 gallon and I don't think I can fit more there. But they are SO cute! I hack up frozen brine shrimp with a razor blade until it is sludge and the babies go nuts.

I tried to see if I could get a half-decent pic of my diamond tetra babies. It's a bit blurry, I put the pen in front for size comparison. Two of the three:

I have SO many shellie fry! And one of the adults is madly shaking, I think that it is either gaurding eggs or trying to lure another fish into getting some action. I'm leaning towards the first, because none of the other fish are getting close to that third of the tank, besides the omnipresent swarm of fry.

They are a cool fish Sar ! knew you'd like them

I just hauled up a 20long to put some ram fry in to grow out. I had them in a small 5 gallon...but the need more room now. There's only 5 of the little critters and 2 small panda cories. The tank is sitting on my kitchen floor......

My Betta has discovered how tasty baby ramshorns are. What a fat little pot belly he has.

Although it's impossible to take total inventory of my cherry shrimp each day like I do my other fish, I at least like to see ONE of them... today I was upset when I couldn't find any, but I always forget to look upside down under the floating plants. Two were there, whew! I didn't expect to have them multiply because they are in a tank with heterandria formosa which are small enough to get into the tangle of java moss and eat babies, but I have noticed a baby shrimp on 3 occasions (assuming it's the same one), so I'm pretty happy about that. It's so cute and already quite red.

I got a whole huge whack of bolbitis for a great price. If I put it all into a 5 gallon there would be no room for fish. Happy #2.

Speaking of babies.... I just found what looks to be a baby neon in my 20g.

I've never had neons.

I'm assuming that it is actually a WhiteCloud and the light just makes it LOOK blue.

Awwhhhh, that made me all misty that you would think of that.
My beloved floaty pens.
No, that was not one of them. My floaties are in their display cases upstairs, they aren't actually USED as actual PENS.

My betta, Perkins (named so because he was so 'perky') gets SO excited when it is feeding time, he dances all around and doesn't actually pay attention. If I drop food in, he misses it and it goes floating away in the current and he's just not smart enough to find it if it's not in front of his nose. I always have to wait a couple minutes for him to calm down so he will actually notice where the food lands.

Funny, kvetti, my louie jumped out so much the other day to get the food that he bonked the top of the tank and the dropper. He gets so fierce when he gets in the mood to eat--he attacks the food with a vengence.

More fish!

I succumbed to Hubbin's wishes--now have a little herd of cardinals in the 20, along with a nice flame gouramie. Everybody looks good--the tatras school fairly well, scattering when the gouramie charges through them. The gouramie is still pretty shy-if we get close to the tank he ducks under the sword leaves and then peeks out at us.

Now to make up my mind about shrimp...
