My bettas, baby arow, and my native fish, especially our bullhead and madtom. Oh, I can't forget my SW goby, he's definately my favorite overall just because he wuvs me
. He recognizes me and he'll let me pet him and sit on my hand. Sometimes I'm scared he's going to jump out of the tank trying to get to me if I ignore him, lol. Dunno what species he is though, no one seems to know ![]() |

I always recommend against petting fish, as it disturbs the natural slime coat, leaving them vulnerable. Not to mention the bacteria and nasties that live on our hands.

I generally like to leave my fish alone as far as physical contact, so this is just an every once in awhile thing. When I put my hands in to get my powerheads out or do maintanance, which most definately isn't every day, he comes over and wants attention. This fish is pretty bulletproof though, so I'm not really worried about it.

Resident Cannibal

When I joined the Navy in '78 I gave him to my ex-brother-in-law, Steve. He kept him another three years until Cassius finally succumbed to HITH (back then I didn't know any better than to feed him feeder goldfish). I haven't had another oscar since, though if I ever buy a great big tank I'd like to keep one again.

I prefer to interact with large Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, and the occasional salmon or trout. Saltwater adds a few other names to the list.
Aside from that my Oscars and beatta's have been my favorite fish. I haven't had the priveledge of owning a puffer yet, but they are on the someday list and I'm looking forward to them when the time comes. Dave
