I'm looking to get rid of my Endlers, and am thinking about putting them on AquaBid. The problem is I don't have breather bags or bag buddies, so I was wondering if you guys have any tips on shipping with just normal bags. I will offer a guarentee on them, and if they make it they make it I guess..

I have shipped fish for years and never used either a breather bag nor a bag buddy. I use normal shipping bags.
1. Use a bag that whether upright or on its side lets the fish be submerged. 1.a. Use a bag which does #1 and which also allows it to be 1/3 filled with water and 2/3 filled with air. 1.b. The faster the delivery method, the smaller the bag size can be as long as it meets 1 and 1.b. specs above. 2. I use a small amount of Amquel in the bag to deal with ammonia. 3. Use two bags. The bag with the fish shuld go into the secod bag so that the tied end of the first bag goes into the second bag tied end down. That is the bags face in opposite directions. 4. Bags should be surrounded in the styro by some sort of packing material. This serves 2 functions- it helps insulate and it provided padding. While some folks use packing peanuts I prefer to use cellulose insulation. This is available in small bales from places like Lowes or Home Depot. 5. For anything but young fish, you should starve/purge the fish by not feeding for 24-48 hours prior to shipping. You are tryig to reduce the amount of poop they produce during the journey. 6. If temps during the trip are ever below about 72F you may want to use a heat pack. If so it should be taped to the underside of the styro lid and should not be touching any bags. Tape only the very edges of the heat pack as it works by using oxygen. 7. Clearly label the outside cardboard box as fragile and perishable. Also put on arrows to indicate top side up. I also label the box as containing Live Tropical Fish. If you have any Qs, drop me a PM.
