I have my 2 black angels in my 55G. I had noticed a few small wounds on my biggest angel and had assumed they were from the yoyo loaches since they had been chasing the angels. I moved the yoyos to the 125 and have made sure to keep the water in the 55 clean to insure healing. Unfortunately, It seems to have gotten worse. I don't know if it is damage from another fish, or if it is some sort of disease like hith or something. I have a 29G I can quarantine the angel in if need be. What should I do? Here are a couple pics to give you an idea of what is going on.
This is the good side.. ![]() And the bad side... ![]() And my other issue is that the belly of my other angel is looking rather fat... could it be pregnant? ![]()

My initital impression was mating related sparring, til I saw the second pic. That is more damage than I have seen in similar situations. The picture isnt clear enough for me to say it is something else for sure.
I would be more worried about the fat one. I don't think its eggs. I see no signs of tubes on either angel. It looks more like she is blocked up. Is she still eating and more importantly, pooping? And if so, how does the poop look?

I see the tube in the last pic you posted. Have you seen them- or either one cleaning a spot to spawn? That is a stong indication they are getting ready. If she is indeed stuffed with eggs, I would not think she has long to go before laying them someplace. And from the way she looks you may about to be blessed with several 100 eggs. Also, his tube should be showing soon if it isn't already.

After what has been said,
If you think it is fighting, maybe think about trying some sort of dither fish, like a couple zebra danios maybe, that would give the attention of the fighting angels a different direction with the aggresson other then each other.... I'd say they are fighting with each other over the breading spot possabley?

Angels will fight when getting ready to spawn, and they will sometimes get worse once the spawning actually happens. If they have already done that much damage you might want to consider spliting them up. That would at least give them time to heal. Looks owie to me!

Yeah, I am going to move the fat angel into the 29 so that if it is prego(which I don't know... I haven't seen it poop, but I rarely do anyway. I have seen it eat quite hungrily so that isnt an issue.) it can have its babies in there as well. I have an lfs right up the street who needs an angel breeder.
