Default My new betta

Hi, my name is Bean, and I'm shy:

Bean is living in a 35L Biube Pure, which seems a considerable improvement on the jar he was in at the LFS (I've never seen that before, it upset me so much I had dreams about it, and not good ones ).

Here's a FTS, before Bean was added:

Nice little setup Sara ! He'll start coming out more once he realizes you hold the feedbag....

As far as the little jars you see them in at the lfs.......if you think about it.....there really isn't very many options for holding bettas in an lfs....especially if space is tight. You can't setup a larger tank and toss them all in like with other fish. I only wish some of these places would actually change the water in those little "cups" once in awhile...

Yeah, I know - it was the trade off for them having possibly 60 bettas, all types of fin shapes and colours, whereas normally there are maybe 10 in the LFSs I generally go to, in community tanks. And I know they probably don't know any different ... but it still made me sad

Pet supplies - 015561101400

I was in petco today, and got onr of those filters for my betta tank for 3 dollars on clerance, it was just a random fluke that they had one left after a instore remodel.

it looks awful large in my 2-3? gallon hex but it made a HUGE diffrence in clarity. So it kind of a trade off between insanely clear water to a gawdy looking filter hanging on the back.

Thanks for the lovely comments, everyone Bean is exploring his tank now, not just hiding at the back. The tank is right next to my desk (I work from home), and he spends a lot of time watching me work

What a cute little guy! I use that same filter on my smaller tanks and I think it does a pretty good job. I've also never really had any problems with it.
