Species tank, or anything else in there with the livebearers?

A good start and I like the plants you are using. This tank would be perfect for a Trio of Goodeids.

right now its going to be just a species tank. i wouldnt mind adding a few bottom feeders later on once i get used to the goodeids and how there fry react at birth since ive been reading that the fry lay on the bottom for a prolonged period of time.

joephys glad you like the pot original i tried three but they "crowded" the tank. one gives the apperance of a little more depth.

Yeah three looks like it would be crowded. I usually have flower pots in my freshwater tanks, but I never thought of burying them like that.

I think it would be a neat idea to just add cories as your bottom feeders. It would add to the "locality" of the tank.

P.S. the brown aponos on the right side in front of the heater sending up the surface leaves?? are what i believe i bought as apono x dwarf lilly hybrids. they do look totally different from the aponos. will see what they end up looking like i might not keep them.
