I had known about the amazon molly for a while now, but thats pretty cool that not only can it reproduce on its own, but it has even seemed to side step the evolutionary process by playing games with its gene pool.

"Scientists at Edinburgh University have been studying complex mathematical models on a highly powerful computing system to look at the case of the Amazon Molly.

Researchers calculated the time to extinction for the fish based on modelling genetic changes over many thousands of generations.

They are now able to say conclusively, for the first time, the fish ought to have become extinct within the past 70,000 years, based on the current simple models. "

Does this statement not make much sense to anyone else?, i mean i can't type go to community college and would have thought that a species of all female fish would have gone extinct in the past 70,000 years as well.

i think they need a pay cut

Hmm.....I'm in agreement with Mark......I can see some groups using this to their advantage to further break down the definition of "family" and prop up their weird anti male ideas about how useless men are. ack!

I can hear em now...."SEE....we DON't need men at all !" .....but somehow they'll miss the fact that these are FISH...not people....
