My 15 reef. REally nice coraline in this tank ! Very pretty purple color. There's also a nice few patches of bright yellow sponge that are doing VERY well.
![]() I have an emerald crab, watchmen goby, redhead goby and wheeler's goby in this tank......probably one goby too many.....eh ![]()

Looking good EMG...That purple and yellow look good together. I've seen the emerald crab in some of your other threads and he's really cool looking. I think I'll have to venture to the salty side some day...But I'll have to get my 75 fresh set up and get the wife comfortable with that first.

Come to the dark side, Derek...We have cookies!
Nice shot, Emg! As long as the gobies all can claim their own little bit they should be fine. ![]()

LOL!! I'm sure I eventually will. I'm always checking out Craigslist for more tanks. I saw a free 75 gal. the other day but I was too late...
My wife wants a salty puffer so I'm sure I can eventually talk her into a salty tank...but the salty water change seems a little daunting to me right now... ![]()

Meh--salt is easier than a high-light planted tank.
Once stable, a SW tank is pretty easy to keep stable.

I was where you are now at one time Dawg.........I took the plunge and havn't looked back since !
It really isn't any harder than what OG said. You don't even have any filter media to change ! All I have for filtration is the coraline, macros and whatever living things I have in there to eat up the gunge and extra food that the fish miss. You do need some way to filter out the crud....a skimmer is best. I don't happen to have one of those so I have to blow off the rocks and filter the junk out with a filter pad in the HOBs each week....but no major problem. Doesn't take me any longer to clean these tanks than any of the fw ones. Mixing the salt isn't a hardship either. I have a 10gallon set aside that I use for that. There's a heater in there and a powerhead to keep the water moving around...just to mix up the salt when I put it in. I use half cup of Instant Ocean mix per gallon to keep the sg at 1.025. After I use up the water in there I mix up another batch for the next change. You just have to check the sg in your tank and the change water before you do a wc and adjust accordingly. Come on over Dawg.....you know you want to...... ![]() OG....those gobys actually get along well together. The redhead and the watchmen hang out next to each other all the time....though I seldom if ever see the wheelers... I wouldn't recommend one of those fish to anyone who actually wants to see and enjoy the inhabitants of their tank......lol......

Very pretty. I like the look of a 15, and it seems like a great size for something between a nano and a regular reef.

Thanks Zanz....I do love the colors in that tank. The clavularia looks so nice sitting on top of all that purple rock !
![]() Joe, I have only 2 sw tanks.....thus far.....hehe......... Truely I'm not planning on starting up another one at this time. No moolah koo koo cha cha...... Unless someone happens by with a FREE 60-75 gallon tank with hood and stand......lights too...and filters..............and extra LR and sand............and...and...........well, I'm not holding my breath too long here, but.........I DID get a nice FREE load of LR, corals and 50/50+actinic almost 100$+ light fixture from Mr Forestal........sooo.........it's not entirely impossible.... One just NEVER knows ! ![]()

My wathcmen is no longer yellow. Apparently it's a she and she's morphed to grey. I think it goes nicely with all that coraline in there !
She actually looks puple in these pics because of the lighting... ![]() ![]() ![]() The tank itself looks pretty much the same since I first posted this thread...a few minor changes...not to mention the lighting ![]()
