Default Xenia mainly

Tell me what you think. Unfortunatly I wasn't able to focus on the entire coral, but I still think it's one of my better ones so far.

They called this Galaxia. Can anyone tell me about it?

Which was labelled as a xenia? The top one looks more like a colt or other tree coral.

Sorry, don't know much about galaxia, but that doesn't look much like the pics I can find online...Thicker, longer polyps that lack noticable grouping. The tentacles look more like a torch coral, but they usually have a different stony portion. Maybe it's just the angle? If it is a galaxia, make sure it's someplace with lots of flow, and away so the tentacles don't reach into other corals.

Hopefully someone else can weigh in on the Galaxia. I'm pretty sure it is, but I've been wrong before, which is evident by the title of this thread And it does have those tenticles when it gets PO'd. It is isolated though, as I was given that warning also.

Galaxias are a pretty aggressive coral. You'll need to make sure it's a good ways away from the others. They have long thin tenticles that can reach pretty far.

I declined the offer of one for my 29 because I just don't think I have space enough to get one off far enough by itself.

looks like a small frag of galaxea and as eileen said, keep away from others. there sweeper tentacles can be quite long. i had a single polyp frag that i grew out for giggles, and sweepers were close to 8 inches long, hard to believe but it was a stinker

They are a very nice looking coral though......I like the texture look of them. Too bad they're such "stinkers" like Forestal said....
