Default a few pics of softie coral

Just because it's a rainy slow day.......thought I would post a few softie scenes from my 50. I've been really happy with this tank....so far so good !

They're a little dark, but I hope you enjoy them anyway........

You are so missing out Susan.....but I can understand. There certainly are alot of wierd creepy looking critters you can find in a reef. Is it the critters or not being sure of how to go about it ?

Have you ever thought perhaps of doing a salt fish only tank ? You wouldn't get any weird critters in a fish only tank.....just the fish you choose to add. I've seen some nicely done fish only saltwater tanks.

Its acrtually the fear of mixing up my own salt water. The python/prime routine is just so easy with fw. I'm a big chicken.

I use Instant ocean salt. I add 1/2 cup of salt per gallon of water for a specific gravity (SG)of 1.025. Not hard at all...and for the coral and fish that I keep I don't have to use an expensive electronic hydrometer to test that. Just a swing arm one is good enough for what I keep.

Thanks Mark....your pics and tanks aren't too shabby either (did I say that right ?? )

between your photos (amazing!) and the 29 gal (which just randomly gets new things added) sitting in my living room I am dangerously close to being converted.... No! not the dark side!
