Just got rid of alot of algae and got a whole bunch of young corkscrew val. Also moved the driftwood around.
![]() ![]() ![]() I also got rid of the crypts and other plants so that the tank is solely planted with jungle and corkscrew val. Stock list: 1 black angel 1 dwarf gourami 1 male bolivian ram (soon to get a female) 4 neons 2 otos 3 cories 1 male guppy (which I'm about to get rid of) |

I'll be looking forward to seeing it grow in. Keep us posted.
If you can...put a black or dark blue background on. Doesn't have to be fancy, one of my tanks has a garbage bag. It makes those plants stand out more. I got some Windex wipes to clean water spots off my tank too...you might give that a try. You just don't want to spray anything around the tank. |

Dark blue? I've used both, and think that blue is great with plants, too.

Dark blue it is then.
That driftwood is just something I found at the creek, that's the two of three parts I was able to cut it into. It's been in my tank since around October and still hasn't sunk It's looking really good since the bleach dip actually. My Bolivian ram has formed his "roost" in there, and today he will be getting a new lucky lady ![]() Thanks for the kind words. |

Adding a dark backgroud may make the angel feel more secre and therefore it won't "hide" as much.
Tank looks good, the only thing I would change in it would be the big white rock. For me it stands out, tank looks a bit unbalanced. I would either lay it down and move it further away from the driftwood, take it out and put a smaller differently shaped piece in, or move it to further from the driftwood and a couple more rocks slightly smaller. I think the rock is sitting on the wood to keep it from floating.
Nice start Aussie ! A black background probably won't work with that black angel. You'd want a color that makes him stand out...light blue (though, I'm not partial to light blue backgrounds, some tanks look very nice with them) I've seen some of the amano tanks that actually have white backgrounds. I wonder how that would look.... ![]()
