Default Thinking of getting a puffer

I'm switching my 55 gallon to a community, and am going to move all the fish in my 10 gallon into my 55. I'm going to heavily plant my 10 gallon, and would like to get a puffer.

I was skimming over at thepufferlist.com, and the male Carinotetraodon
irrubesco cought my eye. (Well, the arrowhead cought my eye more, as did the fahaka, but another, bigger tank is out of the question. )

Anyone have any experience with this puffer, have a different species to reccomend, or just have some general knowledge to share?

Any and all comments appreciated.

Thanks,
Freddy

A ten is pretty small for puffers, but your choice is one which will fit. For me they are not very active and can be quite reclusive though most folks don't seem to have that as much as I did.

For someone new to puffers and using a smallish tank but well to densely ppanted, I'd suggest Dwarf Puffers - they are the smallest, but also the easiest, and can be housed as a pair or trio in a ten. they are also active and curious, so become interactive with their keeper - meaning they beg a lot, like goldfish and Oscars.

DPs were also a consideration. Thanks, especially for the link!

I may have to go with DPs, I'm probably not going to find any other species (exclduing F8s) for sale.

DPs are neat fish. I'm sure mine would follow me through the air if they could

Alright, I'll probably go with DPs.

Thanks!

(You probably know this) Some species of puffers can move either eye independently. It is very cool to watch.

Actually, I've never heard of that.
