I feed mine bloodworms, and drop in the occasional snail. I have tried to give them frozen chopped beef heart and brine shrimp. They go for the blood worms..but don't seem to have much interest in the other.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried live brine? That was always a hit with mine--and I started with ones so tiny, BBS were all they could eat!

they love live foods and blood worms anything meaty. They will eat plankton as well.

DPs are not really picky, but they seem to have this conpulsion for detailed examination of everything before they bite. I really don't see how they manage to be such nippers in mixed tanks...
Low in the pecking order DPs can feed easily from the saucer, while the high-in-the-order conspecifics are hanging around the cone. The same technique serves in my mixed Neon Rainbow with flagtail cayfish tank - the rainbows whirl madly around the cone (It tastes better if you are swimming fast?), while a flagtail or two rest in the saucer below, seemingly knowing that missed worms are coming to them (no self-respecting rainbow will admit that there migh be food on the tank substrate).

I did admit that they are not picky. Most puffers are picky, and most (other than DPs) need very crunchy food for their rabbit- like incissors Constant growth mean constant abrasion is absolutely required), to keep them worn down. DPs do not have th great need/requirement for hard crunchy food to the extent that the rest of the family shares.
